Hadith Minhaji #10

The Prophetic Method: Toward a Better Understanding of our Din

You are cordially invited to attend the 9th session of Ahadith Minhajiyah, which is held every first & third Saturday of the month. The next session will be this coming Saturday, June 19th, between Magrib (8:30pm) & Isha @ Apex Mosque. Please make your plans to attend this beneficial program, as our brother Khalid Chahhou brings out a selection of ahadith that are really important in leading to a Better Understanding of our Din. Here is the next hadith:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (peace & blessings be upon him) as saying: “He who alleviates a suffering of a believer out of the sufferings of this life, Allah would alleviate his suffering out of the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection; and he who finds relief for one who is hard pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter; and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in this life and in the Hereafter. Constantly, Allah is at the back of a servant as long as the servant is at the back of his brother; and he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah would make that path easy leading to Paradise for him;  and those persons who assemble in a house of Allah (mosques) to recite the Book of Allah and learn and teach it to one another, there would descend upon them the tranquility, mercy would cover them, the angels would surround them, and Allah makes a mention of them in the presence of those near Him”. The Prophetic Method: Toward a Better Understanding of our Din

Hadith Minhaji #8

“Abu Musa reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of good company and that of bad company is that of the owner of musk and of the one (iron-smith) blowing bellows, and the owner of musk would either offer you free of charge or you would buy it from him or you would. smell its pleasant odour, and so far as one who blows the. bellows is concerned, he would either burn your clothes or you shall have to smell its repugnant smell.

Hadith Minhaji # 7

Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There are people from the servants of Allah who are neither prophets nor martyrs; the prophets and martyrs will envy them on the Day of Resurrection for their rank from Allah, the Most High. They (the people) asked: Tell us, Apostle of Allah, who are they? He replied: They are people who love one another for the spirit of Allah (i.e. the Qur'an), without having any mutual kinship and giving property to one. I swear by Allah, their faces will glow and they will be (sitting) in (pulpits of) light. They will have no fear (on the Day) when the people will have fear, and they will not grieve when the people will grieve. He then recited the following Qur'anic verse: "Behold! Verily for the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve."

Hadith #6

Nu’man Ibn Bashir may God be pleased with him reported that the Messenger of God (Peace & Blessing Be Upon Him) said: “Verily in the body there is a piece of flesh. If it is sound the entire body is sound, but if it is corrupted the entire body is corrupted: behold, it is the heart!

Hadith #5

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Renew your faith!” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), How do we renew our faith?”. He replied (Allah bless him and give him peace), “By saying la ilaha illa Allah (‘There is no god but God’) a lot” [Ahmad and Hakim. By Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (8695) and by Hakim in his Mustadrak (7656)

Abu Dawud (May God Be Pleased With Him) reported, in his Sunan, that the Messenger of God (Peace & Blessing Be Upon Him) said: “Verily, God sends for this Nation (oumma ), at the very beginning of every century, someone to revive its (nation) Din / faith”.

Hadith Al-Khilafah

Imam Ahmed reported, on the authority of an authenticated chain of reporters, that God’s messenger (grace and peace be upon him) said:

“Prophecy shall last amongst you as long as God wants, then God shall raise it whence he wants.

Then shall come the reign of sarcastic monarchy, which shall last as long as God wants.

Then God shall raise it whence he wants. Then shall come the reign of despotic monarchy, which shall last as long as God wants, then God shall raise it whence he wants. Then shall come the reign of caliphate on the pattern of the prophet’s tradition”.

Hadith Jibril

On the authority of Omar, who said :

“ One day while we were sitting with the messenger of Allah there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black; no signs of journeying were to be seen on him and none of us knew him.

He walked up and sat down by the prophet. Resting his knees against his and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs, he said:"O Muhamed, tell me about Islam". The messenger of Allah said: "Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and Muhamed is the messenger of Allah, to perform the prayers, to pay the zakat, to fast in Ramadhan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so." He said:"You have spoken rightly", and we were amazed at him asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly.

He said: "Then tell me about Iman."He said:"It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny, both the good and the evil thereof." He said:"You have spoken rightly".

He said: " Then tell me about Ihssan." He said: "It is to worship Allah as though you are seeing Him, and while you see Him not yet truly He sees you".

He said: "Then tell me about the Hour". He said: "The one questioned about it knows no better than the questioner."

He said: "Then tell me about its signs." He said: "That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and that you will see the barefooted, naked, destitute herdsman competing in constructing lofty buildings."

Then he took himself off and I stayed for a time. Then he said: "O Omar, do you know who the questioner was?" I said: "Allah and His messenger know best". He said: "He was Jebreel (Gabriel), who came to you to teach you your religion”. Narrated by Muslim
